Look out for new technologies and turn them into eco-innovations!

Scarcity of resources, rising material and energy prices and global warming have lead to an increasing demand for resource efficient solutions or „eco-innovations“. In this context, technological trends serve as significant enablers: New technologies continuously provide the basis for resource efficient products, processes and services.

With the concept „Resource Efficiency Technology Radar“, technological options with resource efficiency potential can be identified and assessed. It facilitates a systematic technology intelligence process and includes an assessment of the future technological lifecycle based on the method Material Intensity per Service Unit (MIPS). The results can be integrated into technology and innovation management and planning.

Check-out the article „Resource efficiency as a key-driver for technology and innovation management: dealing with an emerging trend in technology intelligence“ (Follow the link, then click „Postprint“) published in the International Journal of Technology Intelligence and Planning. The article describes the topic on the basis of a practical case study.
